About

Hi, I’m Josie Morris and I’m living an inspired vegan life. My goal with this blog is to help give people the resources and motivation to live their own inspired vegan lives.

I wasn’t always a vegan. I ate meat for the first 25 years of my life. I vividly remember eating a rack of ribs after running a 10 mile race when I was in college. I also remember my favorite childhood TV dinner was Swanson’s Veal Parmesan. That’s back when I didn’t know any better. I was just like most people in this world. I though food was food. You eat it, you get some carbs and protein, and that’s it.

Then I read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser while traveling in Germany. It changed my life. Eric is not a vegan. He eats meat. But he took it upon himself to discover how exactly food is produced in our country. It is fascinating. After reading that book I instantly became vegetarian. Of course, I read more, attended talks by kewl people like Gene Baur from Farm Sanctuary and eventually cut all dairy and animal-related products out of my diet. It was a progression to become vegan. I was vegetarian for about 5 years and then because vegan at the beginning of 2008.

As most vegans, I love animals and spend much of my time with our four dogs and hanging out with rescue dogs that need a helping hand. When people ask me “Why are you vegan?” “Isn’t that hard for you?” I say “It’s really not hard at all. I love animals and I don’t want to hurt them.” There are so many great food options out there and ways to eat a balanced diet that don’t include meat, I feel great and every time I visit my doctor everything checks out so …. so far so good!

Thanks for joining me on this adventure! I hope my blog keeps you entertained and gives you some food for thought on the topics I meander through. Enjoy the recipes. If you ever need help with vegan stuff, just post a comment, I’ll get right back to you.
